Q 1. Summarize, in your own words, what Jesus is teaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Plain). 2. In Dr. Linahan's article, The Sermon on the Mount and the Creator of Peace, she writes "Love of enemies is not so much an emotion as a thorough going putting-into-practice of radical and self-less care for the Other's well-being" (p.64). She explains ways of doing this by refusing to use violence against violence, attending to human needs, searching for justice, and trying to discover what we have in common with the "other" or the "enemy" (p. 68). What real life examples can you come up with that demonstrates "loving your enemies" as Dr. Linahan has described here? First post due Thursday, respond to two classmates by Saturday.

Jesus is teaching in the Sermon on the Mount (Plain) that every believer of God shown signs of humility and being humble and righteous in nature will be welcomed/accepted by Jesus and the Holy Trinity to become eligible/worthy members of Heaven. Jesus also tries to make the listeners understand the importance of forgiving the sins of other human beings. The individuals making peace and not creating or continuing conflict are the ones loved by God. The sacrifices of lives of believers of God for believing in the true God or Jesus had been promised by Jesus to be rewarded.
